Thank you for your interest in our classes!

As a family in one of our classes, you and your child will have the opportunity to play musically each week under the guidance of one of our early childhood music specialists. During class, you will sing and move to songs and rhythmic rhymes in a variety of meters and tonalities by participating in activities that include small and large movement, instrument play-alongs and community singing. These fun activities are presented as informal, non-performance-oriented musical experiences that are developmentally appropriate for children and easy for parents and caregivers to participate in regardless of their own musical ability! In addition to the fun you will have in class, you will receive two professionally recorded CDs and a beautifully-illustrated songbook so you can continue the music-making fun at home. Families new to Music Together will also receive our “Music Together at Home: Helping Your Child Grow Musically” parent DVD.

The Essential Music Together Class

This is the essential Music Together class, one that a child can attend from birth through kindergarten—and through all nine song collections. This basic class follows the recommendations of child development researchers—grouping children of a variety of ages in one class. This approach fosters natural, family-style learning where younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together. Each child participates at his or her own developmental level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, observing, or exploring musical instruments.  Classes are approximately 45 minutes long.

We welcome the whole family to join in this important family music experience and any caregiver—parents, grandparents, nanny—can bring the child(ren) to class.
